National Reference Centre for Toxoplasmosis (Ce.Tox.)
Parasite identification from pathological material (striated muscle, uterus, heart, brain and placenta) is carried out by phenotypic and genotypic tests (optical microscopy observation and molecular analysis). Antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii are detected from serum. Refrigerated samples must be sent to the laboratory.
Details of the exams are reported in the tables below.
The Standard Operative Procedures (POS/PdP) are certified according to UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
